Assistant Operations Manager - WAF at Atlantic Container Line in Westfield, New Jersey

Job Description:

Description:  Work with Grimaldi Line ConRo and PCTC vessels servicing the US East Coast and Gulf operations.  Responsible for successfully supervising all aspects of stevedoring and terminal operations for LoLo and RoRo cargo operations. In addition, responsible for generating cost estimates, verifying and approving invoices per contractual agreements.  Assist management in cost control.  Assist Support/Bookings Department with technical information for cargo quoting.  Generate operational reports for each vessel port call.  Coordinating stowage with vessel planner and ensuring stow plans and stowage are accurately followed by stevedores.     

Job Requirements:  A maritime college degree is preferred, but not necessary with two or more years of prior maritime operations experience.  Proficient in MS Office.  Excellent phone, written, and organizational skills.  Must work well independently and with others.  Possess the skills to act independently in the best interest of the organization.  Candidate must be flexible with the ability to conform to pressure situations.  Must be able to work outdoors at terminals and on vessels for extended hours in all varying weather conditions.  Frequent flexible travel is required.

Certifications and Licenses:  Must be able to secure a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and DMV Driver’s License.
