JOB LOCATION: Wellmark YMCA in downtown Des Moines
HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Standard work week, but will occasionally work evening or weekend hours to accommodate activities such as meetings and events.
SALARY:$80,000 - $88,000 annualized

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Sr. Executive Director will be responsible for branch leadership and connection to the Y mission and association strategic plan, vision development and goal setting for the branch, board development, and general branch management, including staff management, fiscal management, facilities management, and program management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises branch operation, including the general facility and programs, and the aquatic facility and programs, including swim team. Manages the branch in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the YMCA of Greater Des Moines. Accountable for annual budget development, monthly budget monitoring and management, forecasting, and achievement of budget established at the beginning of each fiscal year. Oversees management of branch day-to-day operations including all administrative, risk management, compliance, and facility functions. Supervises assigned staff and oversees the operations of the related departments by developing a strong staff team; set goals and maintain a culture of accountability; evaluate the performance of staff; coach them in areas where improvements are needed and continually strive to improve performance level of staff. Be a role model to staff at all levels and volunteers, connecting them to the mission, strategic plan and promise of the organization with a specific focus on training and preparing all team members to adhere to Y policies, procedures and practices ensuring all are aligned in doing things the Y way. Provides leadership and direction to program identification and development. Continuously update and improve current programs to meet community needs, ensure compliance with association program standards, and attain the highest possible level of program quality. Provides leadership to and accountability for the branch annual support campaign and other assigned financial development activities of the association. Develops and facilitates an engaged volunteer advisory board to ensure a successful operation geared to meeting Community needs and commensurate financial support. Engages in association membership and marketing initiatives as well as create new and innovative approaches to attract and retain membership. Manages the development, use and maintenance of the facility to ensure a bright, clean, and functional environment, meet the expanding needs of the community, improve efficiencies and promote safety. Supports the overall Association by serving as a resource and by participating as a member of various committees and groups including: Operations Team, Various Program Advisory Teams, and all others as assigned. Builds the brand of the YMCA through community awareness campaigns, engagement of community leaders, and active participation in community organizations and events. Other duties as assigned.
