As a Software Engineer, your primary role lead and implement efforts custom Stout software applications, with a strong focus on security. You will be able to further your skills on a platform that utilizes several modern technologies. Initially this role will focus on existing platforms that require significant enhancements. Experience with SQL, C#, and SDLC methodologies is essential.

You've worked on product development for at least part of your career and prefer to build new and innovative systems in a collaborative environment. You have a passion for technology, get satisfaction from solving real business problems, can communicate effectively, and enjoy being part of a team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Completes technical design, development, testing and implementation of front-end website, related databases and app changes based on new projects or requests as assigned.

  • Updates documentation for website, apps, databases, website/app technical details, website change process, etc. as changes arise from projects or requests.

  • The ability to think critically and work as part of a collaborative cross-functional team and drive projects to a successful conclusion.

  • Performs static/dynamic code testing, manual code inspection, threat modeling, design reviews and penetration testing of internal web applications and external partner applications to identify vulnerabilities and security defects.

  • Supports the implementation and enforcement of secure design principles according to policies, standards, and patterns of Information Security.

  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in web application security for enterprise projects during development phases to provide Information Security consulting and recommendations, ensuring the implementation of approved security requirements.

  • Working knowledge of web services

  • Collaboration on product conceptualization for security by design

  • Rapid decision-making to prevent delayed releases due to security issues

  • Maintain code development using Azure DevOps

  • Leverages C#, ASP.Net, Visual Basic, CSS, C#, JavaScript, JSON, SQL

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • At least 5 years of experience.

  • College level courses in related field (i.e., web design and information technology).

  • The equivalent of two years of experience performing either web design, web production and/or large web technology roles in a team environment. Desired functions include, but are not limited to, web designer, web developer, app developer, or project manager.

  • The equivalent of two years of experience troubleshooting web technology issues with internal and external stakeholders.

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., communication, design, technology, or IT project management).

  • Experience with graphic design, or user experience design a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies deployed through Azure DevOps.

  • Experience with utilizing DevExpress controls

  • Experience with SDLC security best practices

  • Strong knowledge of C#, ASP.Net.

  • Very strong SQL skills

  • Experience or knowledge of LINQ to SQL

  • Experience handling upgrades to integrations and troubleshooting bugs

  • Proficient analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficient interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Collaborates well in a (physical or remote) team environment and is sensitive to the needs of business stakeholders.

  • Experience with evaluating and remedying Ethical Hacking and Web Penetration Test recommendations.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship.

For individuals assigned to work in California, Colorado, New York City, or Washington, Stout is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The range for this role considers several factors including but not limited to prior work and industry experience, education level, and unique skills. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000 - $138,000 Annual. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
