Job Description:

Position Summary
Decorator is responsible for the day-to-day production of products, specifically decorating cakes and pastry while maintaining a high-quality standard. This person is expected to work together as a team, foster a positive work environment, and carry out the core values of Wright's Dairy Farm & Bakery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
? Be a liaison between the retail staff, finishing crew, and decorating crew to maintain a flow of product availability, special orders, and customer satisfaction
? Review all cake orders to ensure all information is clear, concise, and properly completed
? Complete all orders according to customer specifics:
a. Correct flavor, filling, topping and decoration
b. WDF expects decorators to write neatly and clearly on all cakes and to use colors in a pleasing way
? Baste cakes in a variety of different frostings including but not limited to whipped cream, buttercream, Italian buttercream, cream cheese and poured ganache
? Decorate cakes up to customers expectations this includes but is not limited to icing roses, ribbon and confetti, fresh fruit, fresh flowers, kits, airbrushing, piping and basic fondant work
? Set up and finish pastry platters
? Maintain, inventory, and order all decorative items for cakes, special orders, and seasonal store products
? Oversee and help with cleaning and sanitizing of the room to maintain a clean and sanitized work area including tables, floor, mixers, and other equipment
? Keep yourself informed by the daily huddle, memos, and attending meetings to ensure the decorating team is cohesive
? Communicate effectively with peers and management necessities, problems, and well-being
? Learn and use technology for scheduling, payroll, spreadsheets, and any other forms, checklists, and SOP

Qualifications
1. High School diploma or GED required.
2. Previous pastry production/decorating experience preferred but not required
3. Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
4. Must be available early mornings and occasional nights

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

The employee is required to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel and crouch. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus.
The work involves considerable exposure to airborne food particles and loud noises in a fast-paced environment with people working in close proximity.
