Position Overview
PDW seeks a skilled Manufacturing Engineering Associate to join our team, contributing to the next wave of manufacturing for our upcoming product lines. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting the Production Manufacturing Engineer with daily tasks to enable the best in practice(s) Production Operation.
Core Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will thrive in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, be able to deal with problems on the fly and deliver critically designed and highly adaptable solutions.
Collaborate with the Production Manufacturing Engineer and other production personnel to make general and specific changes to the production line to address plant metrics targets.
Assist with and update redline mechanical and cable drawings as directed.
Assist with and update WI (Work Instructions) for the Production Operations.
Perform assigned tasks to implement, maintain, and improve the Production Operations.
Qualifications
Required:
3D Modeling software tools background, SolidWorks experience is a plus.
Mechanical drawing experience including origination, maintenance, and improvements. Note:At some point drawing samples will be requested.
Working knowledge of part numbering, BOM structures (both engineering and manufacturing) and how they integrate into a product.
Established and working understanding of WI (Work Instructions), i.e., layout, drawings, instructions (how-to), illustrations (digital), torque settings, etc., and maintenance of same.
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) experience and usage.
Preferred:
Associate degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or 10+ years of applicable experience.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems including fasteners in metal, plastics, and fiber-based material along with torque specifications and locking chemicals.
Fitment of electrical components such as PCBAs within products.
Understanding of plastic molds and the injection molding process.
History of supporting manufacturing/production, especially high-mix low-volume operations.
Prior experience with drones.
Experience with 3D printers and their usage.
ITAR Requirement
