Bose Corporation is seeking a talented Program Manager to join the Concept Development team within our Consumer Electronics division. In this role, you will manage a fast-paced entrepreneurial project to prototype a new Wearable Out Loud devices. You will join, and lead, a cross-functional team that includes third-party tech partners. A successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, solid engineering fundamentals, and a proven track record for managing projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management - Facilitate the definition of project objectives, scope, and schedule. Plan and direct budgets and spending. Manage risks and develop mitigation plans. Deliver proof-of-concept prototypes that demonstrate performance and tradeoffs.

Team Management - Hold teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks

to their work. Leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work. Promote empowerment of the team, mentoring team members where necessary.

Communication - Communicate project status regularly to stakeholders. Coordinate with internal partners for successful transitions from Research to Development.

Process Management and Improvement - Continuously improve team processes and tools in the spirit of Agile Project Management. Provide clear decision-making, roles and responsibilities.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Strong background in hardware and software integration. Previous experience with user interface design and software engineering is a plus

  • Program management experience in advanced development or the development of new technologies using both agile and waterfall methodologies

  • Experience with small-scale (100-unit) production

  • Experience with managing contracts and relationships with external partners

  • Strong systems-level critical thinking skills

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills

Education & Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science, Master of Science preferred.

3-5 years of relevant experience within engineering

5-7 years of program management experience
