If you are a an analytically minded, experienced Senior Cloud Architect willing to work and innovate with the vigor of a fast growing business unit, then with NECECT you will be able to apply advanced principles of science and mathematics to develop highly effective solutions, and develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies for our cloud solutions to meet the business and application requirements.  



  • Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies for our cloud solutions to meet the business and application requirements

  • Provide expertise in cloud technologies and cloud security to engineering and product management

  • Provide leadership for projects and influence across product teams

  • Liaise with remote engineering team, overlapping with remote time zone

  • Work closely with software engineering and product management to define data center requirements for our cloud solutions

  • Work closely with technical writers to document solutions and provide subject matter expertise

  • Evaluate and recommend products for partnership, OEM, or acquisition

  • Work with services and customers on NEC Common Cloud Framework

  • Participate in external conferences, forums, and boards involving Cloud and related technologies

  • Participate in integration testing, beta programs and customer engagements

To be considered for this exciting role, you must possess:


  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 8 to 10+ years of enterprise software development experience with a proven track record of delivering high quality commercial enterprise products

  • Strong coding background, especially in Java or Node.js or Python

  • Deep knowledge and experience in designing cloud-based infrastructure

  • Deep knowledge and experience in cloud security

  • Expert with Cloudfoundry or OpenShift (its core and incubation projects) and other open-source based Cloud technologies

  • Familiar with software design, coding, unit test, integration test. Provide accurate effort estimates and delivers on-time

  • Familiar with Agile software development and scrum

  • Strong team building skills, including cross-functional team building

  • Highly motivated team-player that forms strong relationships with colleagues and has good interpersonal skills

  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vCenter/vCloud Director/Air, OpenStack, Citrix XEN, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM, Azure and also K8S

Special consideration given if you are:


  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or AWS Architect Certification or comparable experience

  • High intellectual curiosity and problem solving skills

  • Expert with IaaS systems such as Amazon EC2, Azure, GCP or VMWARE

  • Experienced with PaaS systems such as OpenShift and Cloud Foundry

  • Experienced with container systems such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Storage administration experience using NetApp and EMC systems

  • Cisco certified in Data Center Unified Computing, Data Center Unified Fabric, Data Center Storage Networking, Data Center Networking Infrastructure or Data Center Application Services or comparable experience

  • Windows and Linux systems administration experience. MSCA/MSCE and RHCE or comparable experience

  • Experienced with programmatic interaction of various APIs (SOAP, REST and XML-RPC web services, XML, XSLT, XPath)

  • Proficient in network administration of load balancers, firewalls, routers and switches (virtual and physical)

  • Experience with network configuration management (NCCM, RANCID, onePK, etc.)

  • Experience with system configuration management (Puppet, Chef, NETCONF, WSMA, etc.)

  • Experience of active participation in open source software communities

Specialized Knowledge and Skills 

Language Skills: Excellent English written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.

Mathematical Skills: Basic Math

Reasoning Skills: Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role with ability to train and disseminate information to other team members as an senior level software architect including virtual team members.


The ability to display strength working closely with other team members, managers and clients is a key element of this position. In-depth industry knowledge in the appropriate market segment(s) and in-depth technical knowledge in at least one area of specialization/solution. 

Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and add value & leadership as a team member for the team. Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills. Ability to train and disseminate technical and competitive information within area of expertise.  Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.
