This position is responsible managing broker relationships in 5-county PA, analyzing market trends, and providing sales strategies and key market insights to optimize distribution channels.
Responsibilities:
Represent the company in the general agent and producing agent communities that sell individual products within the 5-county PA market
Develop and deliver consultative sales strategies to general agents and producing agents
Develop competitive sales strategies
Work independently to define general agency sales targets
Consult with general agents to understand and overcome challenges to generating new business
Meet with producing agents to maintain awareness of competitors’ products and practices
Deliver consumer product portfolio positioning for general agents, brokers, and/or captive agents when necessary
Ensure contracted vendor staff successfully meets market needs, including but not limited to sales and service metrics
Refine current and emerging distribution channels to maximize sales of individual products
Lead the development and communication of GA performance
Maintain strong awareness of the consumer market and regulatory changes impacting agents and brokers
Drive process improvement in the consumer broker channel
Identify GA and producer challenges & knowledge gaps and educate market
Lead special projects aimed at improving GA & broker performance
Must maintain active sales license and required certification for position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field
Minimum 3-5 years progressive sales experience. Direct to consumer experience preferred.
Ability to work independently
Self-motivated, competent in consultative selling skills, highly organized and detail oriented
Excellent negotiation, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Active PA State Accident & Health sales license and State Based Exchange (SBE) certification required (or must be obtained within 60 days of hire into position). Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car.
