Essential Functions and Primary Duties
We are excited to be searching for a Senior Tax Accountantto join the team! This person would be responsible for utilizing research skills, applying tax foundational knowledge to understand potential tax issues, gathering client information necessary for filing, participating in tax planning, recognizing and communicating potential risks, preparing tax accrual workpapers and working with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review. In this role, the Senior Tax Accountant may be charged with supervising and reviewing Staff level work.
Work with cutting edge companies in both multi state and international arenas
Electronically prepare and review complex federal, state and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
Reviews tax information supplied by client; contact client to resolve minor tax matters
Leads multiple tax engagements and successfully manages budget and production goals
Ability to review and evaluate the work of staff and interns
Markets firm services to existing and prospective clients
Flexible hybrid work environment
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of public accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
CPA certification or all 4 parts of exam passed and waiting on license, required
Prepared and federal, state and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
Exposure to general ledger accounting and financial statement reporting
Extensive use of Microsoft Excel & Word and experience with tax software
Passion for maintaining/building client relationships, managing client expectations, while demonstrating knowledge of client businesses
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
3 years of experience in related field
Must be able to work in a team environment
Presentation skills mandatory
Must possess analytical skills
Proficient use of applicable technology
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
