We are currently looking to add a Business Partner to our Human Resources team in San Diego. In this role you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction in the process of planning and executing HR strategies, under the direction of the Vice President of HR. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employee development, employee relations, compensation, performance management and benefits administration, and maintaining and interpreting policies and procedures.

What can I expect in this role?
This is a full time salaried position located in our San Diego office.
Some key duties in this role include:

Collaborates with HR team to roll-out and implement HR strategies to enable business objectives and support future business growth. Serves as a consultant in all areas of HR strategy, such as compliance, legal requirements, government reporting regulations, organizational culture and structure. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximize employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness. Manages the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process for all employees and ensures that all new or transferring employees have the foundation needed to succeed. Administers various Human Resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook, policies and procedures manual. Provides coaching and counseling to designated levels of the organization on various HR issues including, employee concerns, succession planning, group and team dynamics, interventions, investigations, employee appeals, terminations and discipline. Provides support and leadership in all areas of benefits management including company benefit package, workers compensation, FMLA and other leaves of absence. Works with managers on performance management and tools, as well as employee training and development programs to continuously improve the performance and capability of the workforce aligned with the goals and objectives of the company. Maintains working knowledge of benefit programs and strategies that attract and retain the people with the appropriate skills and abilities to meet or exceed company requirements. Maintains thorough understanding of compensation programs and strategies that attract and retain the people with the appropriate skills and abilities to meet or exceed company requirements. Assists in ensuring that all employee training is up to date and employees possess the needed skills to perform the job. Works with employees to develop career paths and development opportunities. Also participates in performance appraisals conducted by supervisory staff as requested. Works with appropriate Department Managers to assess and limit risks inherent in any Human Resource system. Travels to other company locations as needed to lead and support Human Resource functions at those locations. Participates on Safety Committee to help identify and eliminate all potential safety hazards. Supports all project work as requested and needed by the business and as directed by the VP of Human Resources.Acts as backup and resource for payroll processing and administration.

Here is what we are looking for:
Education/Experience
A minimum of 5 years human resources support in a small to medium sized company Four-year college diploma or university degree in human resources or equivalent degreeProven experience with training, payroll processing, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and recruitment of all levels of positions
The ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
