The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region First & Main location is looking for Youth Activity Attendants to give leadership, direction, and supervision to children and participants in temporary child care for infant and preschool aged children and during the school-aged youth activity classes. This individual must be responsible, energetic and enjoy working with children. They must also possess a cooperative spirit, committed to character development by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to staff, YMCA members, program participants and the general public.
We are hiring for all shifts. Flexible, preferred open availability.
Our hours of operations are as follows:
Monday-Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Saturday: 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES:
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience with children leading recreational activities
Minimum of three months of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with children and/or family programming
Applicants must be upbeat, enthusiastic and committed to making a difference
All YMCA staff positions require certifications in CPR/AED/Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Oxygen Administration. Preferred candidates will have current certifications however training is available.
KEY FOCUS AREAS:
Utilize outstanding customer service practices
Greet all parents and children as they enter the area, and communicate Child Watch policies and guidelines
Assist leadership in developing and implementing fun and creative activities
Oversee and participate with children during all large and small group activities
Communicate effectively and exhibit a positive, professional attitude with all staff, parents and children
May be required to work independently for some special events, i.e. Birthday Parties
Need to have the ability to work hours outside of normal work schedule for staff meetings, trainings, extended program hours, parent nights, or association events
