Rich Products Corporation currently has a great opportunity for a Food Product & Process Development Intern/Co-Op in R&D Department, located in St. Simons Island, Georgia. This Co-op will be full-time (40 hours per week) from August - December 2019.
The primary function of this position is to assist the Lead Scientist in benchtop and/or pilot scale processing including organizing and scaling of ingredients and running product development test trials. The co-op will perform analytical testing of different food products, collect and organize/summarize data and assist in other laboratory work as requested by the Lead Scientist. The co-op will have good exposure to the intricacies of food and process technology and research & development, and will gain knowledge and techniques on formula and food processing and analytical testing. Hands-on training on food processing and analytical methods will be provided as needed.
Education Requirements: Must be enrolled in an accredited institution, currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering/Food Engineering/Food Science/ Food Chemistry or related field. Minimum GPA 3.0. Those rising Juniors, Seniors and 1st year grad students preferred.
Other Requirements: Excellent written, verbal and computer skills (Microsoft Office - word, excel, power point); must demonstrate ability to work independently as well as work efficiently with other team members; strong analytical skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; knowledge on food processing, and physical and chemical analyses preferred. Experience in MiniTab or other statistical software is beneficial but not required.
